September to October
Pomegranates are multi-colored fruits with bright red arils that encase white seeds with sweet, juicy juice. They are high in fiber, potassium, and vitamin C. Pomegranates range in size from medium to large, with leathery skins that are pinkish in hue. Their insides consist of spongy, sour tissue which encloses small, dark pink seeds in compartments. The seeds are fully edible, crunchy, with a berry-like sweet flavor.
